The re.adjustme team actively addresses the problem of back pain. They develop a wearable, which targets the therapy individually for each patient. In the form of a T-shirt equipped with sensors, complex movement patterns are analyzed by a combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and medical knowledge and a tailor-made therapy program is offered to the patient. The result is a ‘portable motion laboratory’, which can not only visualize the patient’s movement, but above all analyze it.
The idea was born as part of the entrepreneurship education at Freie Universität Berlin. After successful participation in the course IT Entrepreneurship, a partnership with the AOK Nordost, a placement in the Research-to-Market Challenge and the implementation of a prototype within the framework of a six-month master thesis project, the prototypes are transferred into a marketable product within the following twelve months. Professor Martin Gersch will mentor the team as part of their EXIST start-up scholarship.
